Refuse-derived Fuels for Calciners

Cement kiln especially the calciner can accept lower-quality fuel in terms of complex composition, lower caloric value and coarse size. The mixed waste that contains waste wood, textiles, plastics and leather can be a reliable material for creating alternative fuel. The use of alternative fuels helps to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions. To produce alternative fuel, Wiscon recommends a single shaft shredder for cement kiln and infeed materials with following key characteristics:

Cement Kiln Shredder

The industrial shredder for cement kiln can continuously produce 20 tons per hour for 20 hours, totaling of 400 tons per day. The rotor of the shredder is 3 meters long, engineered with hundreds of rotor blades, which can process more waste comparing to shorter, and smaller-diameter rotor. Alternative Fuel Production

Infeed size matters to cement kiln. Oversized materials obstruct the transport system, the pre-furnace feeding system and fluidized bed incinerator, resulting in bad quality of clinkers. Based on our experience, the materials after shredding at 40 to 80mm is ideal. By choosing the right screen, up to 90% of homogeneity of the output size is guaranteed. A unit of double shaft shredder hyperlink to double shaft shredder (or pre-shredder) is not possible to produce uniform output size.

Shredding requires power and yet Wiscon utilizes variable frequency drive (VFD) to reduce power surge by controlling the speed and torque. The control system monitors the workload, keeping the cement kiln shredder at its most energy-efficient state.
